Yay for Fridays! I am more than ready to kick back tonight with a book and popcorn (yes, I read books with popcorn). How about you? Any fun plans for the weekend?
I’m sharing a few fun things in my Friday Favorites list today, but first off is a new podcast episode you must listen to!
I’ve mentioned the YHL podcast on the blog before, but you guys. This latest episode is like listening to a REAL hgtv show. You know, something where the drama is actually legit, and not just manufactured for the commercial breaks. John and Sherry Petersik, who host the show, are currently renovating a beach house (!!!) and have had so many interesting stories to tell as they go through the process. This particular episode shares the latest snafu they ran into, and it’s crazy to hear all that they have been dealing with! Renovation isn’t for the faint of heart!
On that note, there has been another podcast I’ve really been enjoying…
This podcast has been canceled for a while now, but it is well worth your time if you are a blogger. Each episode focuses on a guest speaker and topic (like writing, balance, self-doubt, growing a blog) and I’ve gotten some great tips from it. I tried to listen while I was painting last week and kept stopping to jot down notes! It’s definitely something that will encourage you if you are blogging or working on another type of creative business.

Aren’t these botanical prints so pretty?! I’ve been seeing this look around a lot lately. I would love to make some of these to hang in my bathroom, and I might try my hand at designing some of my own. This is definitely an idea to bookmark if you are looking for budget-friendly art for your walls. The prints are free, but you do need to subscribe to Lauren’s email list if you’d like to download them.
Of course, simply buying frames can get expensive too, but they can always be thrifted for reasonable prices. It might be hard to find all the same size, but I would just paint them the same color, print the graphics to fit the variations, and go from there! Boom. Gallery wall.

I am 100% obsessed with this pasta salad. Pasta salad tends to be one of those things that some people vehemently hate, but I just can’t get enough. I make mine pretty similarly to Lindsay’s recipe, but I add (as she suggests) pepperoncini peppers and fresh bell peppers. SO. Good.
Plus, if you cut back on the cheese and salami (I skip the feta and halve the salami) and add those extra veggies in, it’s definitely at least moderately healthy. Oh, and make the dressing recipe she includes! It’s worth the 2 minutes it’ll take.
Now go and make it todaaaaaaaaaaay.
Alright, I’m headed off to conquer Friday! I’m hoping to start back in with painting our bedroom today (totally didn’t paint even a spec of it since Sunday) and get a few other projects started.
