It’s time for another post of my random favorites from the week! Starting us off is one of my favorite shopping/gift-giving tips:
1 – Budget-friendly tip: buy your greeting cards at Marshall’s
You know how greeting cards cost up to $6-8 these days? Sooo annoying. And often they aren’t even cute. Well, enter Marshall’s/TJMaxx. They carry a good selection of cards (happy birthday, baby showers, weddings, etc.) for right around $2 each. And they are cute! It drives me crazy to spend loads of money on cards that often just get tossed, so I definitely like to keep a few of these on hand.
I originally saw this dry shampoo recommended over at Julie’s blog, and finally gave it a try. It’s pricey, but wow does it work well! Perfect for those times when I don’t have time to wash & blow dry (plus it saves my hair from over-washing, which I am guilty of!). This shampoo actually seems to clean my hair instead of just masking the fact that it’s time for a wash. I will usually wash my hair every other day, using this on the in-between days. One caveat is that it has a strong smell, but that’s pretty unavoidable with dry shampoos.
3 – New library books
I love reading, so I’m excited about this stack of books, but I honestly don’t know if I’ll end up reading most of them. I need to read reviews to preview what I’m getting myself into. I am SOO picky with fiction. I don’t like scary, creepy, PG-13 scenes, or subtle political undertones. See? Picky. So yes, that means I
sometimes always have a hard time finding good reads. I basically wish there was a never-ending supply of Jane Austen and Anne of Green Gables. At least if all else fails, I have Mansfield Park in the mix!
4 – Around the web
Sometimes you just need a laugh. I’ve started saving an Instagram collection for posts that make me chuckle on Instagram and here are a few of them!
