It’s time for another Friday favorites post! It was so wonderful to have a long weekend and take some time to unwind, but I am a person that thrives on to-do lists and productivity, so I’m ready to get back to work and my routine!
Starting off my favorites from the week are these cute little plants I found at an unexpected spot:
1 – Inexpensive succulents
I found these tiny little plants at Aldi of all places, and aren’t they adorable? And they were just $2 a piece! I love putting succulents in teacups or small pots for some color around the house, so this was a great (and unexpected) find.
2 – Pink paint
If you caught my Instagram story last weekend, you know I finally picked a color for our door! Sherwin Williams Bella pink. I still need to do a third coat and then take some finished photos, but I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. Subtle, but still pink. I highly recommend painting your front door as a quick and easy way to add some character to the outside of your home. I’ve been enjoying driving in and seeing the pop of color.
3 – Time away from social media
We spent part of the long weekend away at a lake with family and had a blast soaking in summer by the water. I didn’t get good cell service, so I turned my phone on airplane mode and honestly didn’t even check it for the whole time we were away. I have to say, it was amazing. I don’t think I realized how the constant onslaught of notifications (even the ones I quickly swipe away) can really take a toll. And of course the escape from social media was a welcome break as well. It’s just refreshing to focus on enjoying life and not what my phone is up to. So, if you haven’t been away from your phone for a while, DO it. I found it so helpful that I’m considering turning my phone off for long periods on a regular basis.
4 – Pinterest Organizing
Did anyone else know that you can drag and drop your Pinterest boards to re-organize them? I didn’t and I felt pretty lame about that! But after I got over it, I had lots of fun reorganizing my boards in a way that made sense.
If you are into blogging at all, you probably have heard that utilizing Pinterest and actively pinning great content is super important to how much traffic your blog/site will receive. This means I’m definitely spending more time on Pinterest than I used to, and am also striving to make sure my boards are a helpful tool for others, not just myself. I’m now in the process of re-naming some boards and continuing to edit and adjust to make everything all nice and pretty.
Well, that’s about all I have! I’d love to hear in the comments anything that you are loving this week! Or if there are any other obvious Pinterest tips I should be aware of, hah!
Love these as always, Ellen! The pink paint you found for your door looks perfect! I’m so excited to see it!
Thanks Elizabeth! 🙂
