It’s been awhile since I’ve written a Friday Favorites post, so I wanted to share a few things that I’ve been loving the past couple of weeks!
What I made for dinner last night
Whenever I make a recipe from Deb at Smitten Kitchen, I know I won’t be disappointed. The latest recipe I tried from her recent cookbook (my Christmas present!) were these broccoli, cheddar, and wild rice fritters. And spoiler, they were amazing.
Besides the fact I am aaaall about meals that use up leftovers, these were a snap to make and absolutely delicious.

I talked about Deb’s first cookbook (which I adore) over here, but I have to say, the sequel is just as good..if not even better. I know I’m not the only one that feels pressed for time (and ideas) when dinnertime rolls around, so it’s awesome to have a book of straightforward and unfussy recipes to help me out!
Next up, my most recent cookbook crush. I mean, you didn’t really think I was done talking about food already, right?
I picked up this book from the library the second I read the title. I mean, BraveTart? Gimme. I can’t fully describe how amazing this book is, but if you love history+dessert+phenomenal recipes, this cookbook is for you.
Each section features iconic American desserts paired with fantastic historical overviews. It will absolutely captivate. I realize I’m making it sound really boring with all this “history” talk, but it’s like the never-before-told story of American desserts.
You’ll like it. Promise.
And I mean, you can make your own nutter butters!
Also, animal cookies! Who knew? Yes, there are special cutters you can buy just for making these. And you can bet I’ve got them in my Amazon cart right now.
Oh, and want doughnuts that will put every sketchy box in gas stations across America to shame? Gotcha covered.
And it doesn’t stop there. Recipes for candies, ice creams, pies, cakes, puddings, even sprinkles! Did you know you can make your own sprinkles? It’s a thing.
Jon Acuff’s Olympic commentary on Twitter
So I love watching the Olympics. I even watch the boring stuff.
And for me, basically the only thing that’s better than watching is reading all the various commentary surrounding the games. When my boss mentioned Jon Acuff’s Twitter commentary, I couldn’t help but take a look.
Um YES. I honestly do not understand how these skaters can skate in their costumes even WITHOUT wardrobe malfunctions. I would definitely be the girl that wears full-length leggings and long sleeves.
Ticking fabric for pillows
Chime in and let me know what you are loving this week! Anyone else watching ALL the hours of Olympics coverage like me? What’s been your favorite so far?
