Good morning friends and happy Friday! I’m sharing a few of my Friday Favorites today before I head off to start prepping our bedroom for painting (I can’t even wait to get that room painted white; so darn excited!). Wish me luck, I’m hoping to tackle a lot today, but you know how that goes!
So first off on the list,
1 – Unpacking my Grandma’s china
My Grandma gifted this set of china to me and my husband when we got married. It’s a new set and not an heirloom (well, now it is!), but it is still so special to me. It’s the single reason I insisted I needed a hutch in our dining area. My parents kept the set for me while we moved around and when we finally settled in our house, they held onto it a little longer while I searched for a hutch to refinish.
As, you know, I eventually finished that beast of a painting project and now the china is back with me! I had fun unpacking it and I hope to use it as much as I can.
2 – Pumpkin Patch Printable from Sincerely, Sara D
So, I don’t really want to think about fall coming soon (when you live in MN, fall just means that winter is almost here, and that is a sad sad day). But that aside, this sign is so cute! I saw this tutorial last year, and then for whatever reason I could never find it again. Reasons why you should pin good stuff the second you find it I guess!
This project uses a print out and transfer method which I am really curious to try. I could see this method being an easy way to diy some simple wall decor and fill in the many many gaps in our home.
Anyway, check it out if you are curious about the method used or just want to get a jump on some fun farmhouse style fall decor!
3 – Latest work-in-progress
I don’t think I’ve shared a knitting project here before, so here’s the first! This a gorgeous lace shawl pattern from Nancy Bush called the Lehe Shawl. I love lace knitting, but unfortunately I have plenty of shawls/scarves (yes, even with living in MN!), so I think this will be more of a blanket than anything. I’ve still got the edging to knit (which I intend to make quite wide), but this will turn out as a smaller baby-blanket size. Good thing I know plenty of friends who are expecting!
4 – Wilton Cake Decorating on Instagram
Does anyone else totally love those little food/recipe videos that are all over Instagram and Facebook lately? They are just the best. After watching one I feel like I can cook absolutely anything in under 2 minutes. Ha! Anyway, I discovered Wilton’s Instagram while back and I can’t resist watching the little videos they post of different frosting techniques and ideas. These are just short tutorial videos, not really recipes, but it’s ridiculously entertaining for some reason! Just go and check it out. You’ll see.
I also really want to eat cake now.
Well, there ya have it, some of my Friday Favorites! Share some of yours with me in the comments below!
