It’s time for another Friday Favorites!
So, how has your week been? I don’t have any huge plans for the rest of the day and I’m so happy about that, because guys, the to-do list is outta control. I just want a week off to paint aaaaall the things, declutter, and read a good book…and then I’ll happily come back to reality.
Anyway, pipe dreams aside, I’m kicking things off today with my latest addition to my furniture rehab collection:
1 – Free furniture
You guys know I love a good deal, and you can’t really beat free. A sweet gal from church offered these darling chairs to me after seeing my blog page on Facebook. I guess they were from a country school sometime back in the 50’s (or earlier), so I’m pretty pumped. I have two (it’s the unpainted oak chair in the pic) and they are full-size chairs, but very petite. I’m not 100% what I’ll do with them yet, but I thought some ruffled seat cushions would be really cute + maybe painting them white. We’ll see!
2 – Dresser progress!
(pardon the grainy cell phone pic!)
So I finished the main body of this dresser (two coats chalk paint, two coats Rust-oleum Matte clear) and now I just have to paint the drawers! I am painting the front of the drawers with the same chalk paint treatment, but I am opting to paint the interior/exterior with a custom color in a basic latex (the color matches the one I mixed from chalk paint). I don’t know how this will end up working, but the goal was a nice smooth finish + minimize layers of paint.
For reference, this is the before pic (it looks so much better painted white I think! So, not too bad for a $10 dresser!):
3. Coconut truffles from Costco
Because I can’t seem to resist posting about food, I had to mention these here!
Coconut Almonds with Dark Chocolate from Edward Marc Chocolatier (via Costco)
I always pay attention to Costco sales because it’s a great chance to try things that otherwise are a little more expensive (they have great deals, but I’m pretty sure they make their money in the snack aisles!). Anyway, you definitely have to like coconut to like these, but I’m such a fan. The name pretty much tells you everything you need to know. Coconut, chocolate, and an almond in the middle. Yum. I’ve been loving adding a couple of these to my lunch throughout the week.
4. Jeans for less than $5!
It always pays to check the clearance racks when shopping! I couldn’t believe it when I saw these jeans for under $5. I figured there had to be something majorly wrong with them, but nope! I love to shop online, but I always seem to find the best deals in store. Pretty excited about this one!
Alright, well I’m off to be productive and tackle that to-do list…wish me luck!
Share with me in the comments what you are loving this Friday!
