DIY Christmas Sheet Music Decor with Fresh Pine
So, is anyone else woefully behind on their Christmas shopping? Last year I was on a roll and got probably 80% of my shopping done over Thanksgiving weekend. But this year? Nope. I’m at about 30%.
I can just see it now. Me, braving Target the weekend before Christmas desperately sorting through the tacky stocking stuffers looking for adequate gifts all the while wishing I was home drinking a hot beverage and watching concerning amounts of Christmas movies (or this).
Someone help me.

Thankfully both our families try to keep Christmas gifts relatively simple. Even so, there is still shopping to be done. And as tempting as it is, I usually try to keep giftcards as a last resort. So the struggle to find just the right gifts is on!
Anyway, shopping trauma aside, let’s get on with the topic of today’s post.
DIY sheet music decor with vintage music books
It all started when I picked up this $3 sheet music banner at Target.
I was almost on the verge of returning the banner when the inspiration struck to create a little Christmas sheet music decor vignette. I had a few books of vintage sheet music and one of them was already in pretty rough shape, so I simply removed some pages and created this little basket of music to stand on our bedroom dresser.
If you’d like to give this look a try for yourself, you don’t need much:
-some pages of vintage sheet music
-jute, twine, or string to tie the pages
-a basket/vessel to arrange everything in
-fresh pine boughs (I just used a few that we trimmed from our tree when we set it up)
-optional sleigh bells or ornaments for a little something extra
After gathering up my supplies, all I did was simply pull a few pages from my book of music and roll them up.
Secure each roll with a strand of twine.
Add a sprig of pine into the tie of each roll (I decided to do this after taking the photo of course).
Now just arrange a few rolls in the basket, add some pine, and set a few sleigh bells right on top. Quick and easy, and the fresh pine makes it look so festive!
Between this little basket of music paired up with the banner from Target and my DIY Noel sign, I think this is quite the festive display of sheet music decor!
I’d love to know, what are some of your favorite items to re-purpose into home decor? Let me know in the comments!
Merry Christmas!
