Animal Families Board Books: Safari & Jungle

I’m excited to share these fun new board books with you today! It’s always great to have fresh reading material and we’ve been really enjoying reading these with our toddler the past couple of weeks.

These interactive lift-the-flap books are an excellent pick for a young baby or toddler. Why, you ask?

The bright screenprinted illustrations are captivating to young eyes and the flaps allow interaction (or even games of “peek-a-boo!”) while you discover the animal babies hidden beneath the flaps with your little ones.

The books tackle the basics—Like how tigers are called tigers (daddies), tigresses (mommies), or cubs (baby tigers). They also have some more surprising facts too—like how a family of pandas is called an embarrassment. Who knew?

I’m not going to lie; I learned a few things from these books too!

So besides being entertaining little reads, your toddler will be learning plenty about animal families too as you share these books together.

Suggested age range: 0-3.

What I Like About These Board Books

The bright colors and interactive format are engaging for babies/toddlers and help teach about unique animals. The books consistently hide the baby animal behind the flaps, which is a fun reveal with each page turn.

With a flap on each page and a gatefold page at the end (flaps that open from the center on both sides of a page spread), these short little books pack in the interest. We always read a handful of books before bedtime and naps and I love having shorter books to intersperse between longer choices (ahem, Little Blue Truck!).

Animals featured in Safari: leopards, zebras, lions, rhinos.

Animals featured in Jungle: tigers, elephants, peafowl, and pandas.
